BRANDY THIEVES
CHAMPAGNE BY THE WAY. LONDON. Juno 2. A cabman going to his employer’s city stables early in the morning disturbed thieves, who were harnessing a horse to a van for the purpose of removing 92 cases of brandy, valued at £IOOO, which had been stolen Irom neighbouring vaults and were
stacked on the pavement. The thieves drank several bottles of champagne to lighten their arduous labour of carrying and stacking the cases. It is believed that eight or nine thieves were engaged. The same vaults were looted several weeks ago.
