FRENCH SUSPICIONS,
LONDON, May 15. A Times leader states: —“The French vision of an Anglo-Italian combination to counterbalance a combination of E ranee and Belgium, is not unnatural in the present frame of mind of some French newspapers; but the suggestion that the King’s visit to Rome is in any way connected with the event is grotesque. “ The visit was a testimony of the Empire's gratitude for this brave and stubborn champion of the common cause. Suspicions and jealousies of our feeling toward Italy show inability to grasp our policy or to understand our character.-
