OLD FOLK ENTERTAINED
In spite of Ibo fact that several performers failed to put. in an appearance t.ter faithfully promising to do so, an cxcollant entertainment. was given tn the Benevolent Institution social hall, Caversham, on Monday evening by Miss Jimsio Fraser and her concert party. Miss Fraser, who is well known as a versatile performer in solo and musical numbers, was quite a host in herself. She was ably assisted by the old people, who contributed extra choruses. Everyone was delighted with the fare provided, and at the -conclusion of tho entertainment Mr Porteous (manager of the institution) heartiy thanked Mass Fraser and her band of performers on behalf of the inmates for providing such a delightful evening. Items were contributed by the following Ohl folk, community “sings”; Misses E. Sinclair, Lily and Jill Fox. and Master A, Sinclair, Highland reel; Miss A. Craig, pianoforte solo; Joe box and L. Sinelaii, Highland fling; Mrs Phillips, Misses Nadu and Moreau Phillips, sketch; Mies Lily Fox, sailor’s hornpipe; Mrs M. Do Silva, solo; Masters John and Janies Murray and Mr R. Green, instrumental trio; Miss Jill Fox, clog dance; Miss M. Andrews, recitation ; Master B. Wright, Irish jig; Miss J. Fraser and Dir R. Green, ’cello and violin selection; Master A. Sinclair, sword dance; Mr J. Rodgers, solo; Misses E. Sinclair, L. and J. Fox. and Master A. Sinclair. Irish reel: Mrs Bradley, solo; Miss J. Fraser, monologue; Mr F. Swift, solo. The bagpipe music was played by Mr D. MTvay, and tho piajioforto accompaniments by Miss Violet Murdoch and Miss J. Fraser.
