CAUSES SENSATION AT STADIUM. WANTS TO GET INTO THE RING, Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, May 12 Sir Claude De Crespigny, who is noted for his number of challenges to duels, created a lively time at the - Stadium Club, where he was to referee at a boxing tournament promoted by the British Legion. Finding his place occupied by another, De Crespigny issued a challenge to the officials to settle the matter in the ring. He approached Lieutenant-colonel G. R. Crosfield, D. 5.0., the chairman, saying: “I demand satisfaction. Hera is' the ring. Let us put on the gloves and settle it.’’ The chairman declined, whereupon the angered baronet challenged the officer, withdrawing upon discovering that he had only one leg. ne then announced : “Well, I’ll fight his secretary. ’ The arrival of the British princes rev stored calm, De Crespigny accepting tha explanation as regards his substitution.— A. and N.Z.
