CHARGE OF SEDITION FRET ERRED,

When the Irish envoys had just commenced an open-air meeting at Waverley last night, the police intervened. They arrested both envoys, also John Clancy (a collector), on a charge of .inciting to sedition on April 22 and other days. Accused were subsequently released on bail, £3OO each.

An angry crowd followed the arrested men to the police station, sang republican songs, and sported Sinn Fein flags on a motor car. Subsequently the crowd dispersed without further incident.
