THE PATRIARCH TIKHON. CHURCH CONGRESS DEMANDS DEATH PENALTY. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, April 29. The Daily Express Moscow correspondent reports that “remarkable scenes were witnessed at the Moscow District Church ■Conference, when representatives of the Greek Orthodox Church, the new Living Church, and the Revivalist Church, were' asked to condemn Tikhon. For two days 47 of his followers frantically fought their opponents. They fell on their knees and began to chant the Lreek Orthodox hymns 'whenever Tikhon’s name was mentioned, hut the prelates and their followers were forced to abandon the figh,t and withdraw. The remainder thereupon adopted a resolution virtually demanding the dcaLh penalty.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
