OTAGO CRICKET ASSOCIATION

The meeting of the Otago Cricket Association, held last night, was attended by Mr J. J. Clark (president) and a representative attendance of delegates. Mr W. A. Rowland was appointed the scorer for the Cnnterbury-Otngo match. Messrs Morrison, Martin, and Robson were appointed the association’s representatives at the. conference which will Ix 3 held to-night in connection with the Lake Logan reclamation area.

TRANSFER OF PLAYERS. The Secretary of the Carisbrook Cricket Club wrote in reference to the transfer of two players. The matter had been considered by his committee, and he was instructed to write as follows:—“When the boys came to the Carisbrook Club his committee was not aware that they were playing members of another club, and the two players did not consider themselves as such.

as they had not played in any match. His club’ had no official notification from the Dunedin Club that the two men were regarded by that club as playing members until after they had played for Carisbrook in grade matches. Hie reason the Cnrisbrook Club continued to plaj r them was that, from the information available, the committee considered that they could by no means lie regarded as members of the Dunedin Club.—After some discussion it was

decided that the two players concerned be granted transfers, providing they pay 10s each to the Dunedin Cricket Club. SOUTHLAND v. OTAGO. The Secretary of the Southland Cricket

Association wrote asking if it would bo possible to arrange a return match with Otago, at Dunedin, during the present season. It had been the custom in past years to play homo-and-home matches, and the Southland Association was of the opinion that such matches were in the best interests of the' game.—The secretary was instructed to write suggesting that an OtagoSouthland match bo played in Dunedin at Easter. COUNTRY WEEK MATCHES. The Secretary of the Alexandra Cricket Club wrote in reply to the association’s invitation to send a representative Central

Otago cricket team to Dunedin to take part in games during Country Week. He regretted that, owing to the harvesting and fruit-picking, it. would bo impossible to send a team to Dunedin at that time. He hoped that it would bo possible to arrange dates to suit all parties, and suggested that an Otago Central team visit Dunedin towards the end of February or early in March. If it could not bo arranged thus, the writer suggested that the association send a touring team during February or March, but not at Easter, as an Invercargill team would probably be visiting Alexandra at that time. —It was decided to ask if any of the senior teams could make a trip to Alexandra before Easter.
