Dogs are still utilised in Holland and Belgium for their tugging propensity, and probably there are many people who can remember the time when (hoy were put to a somewhat similar use in England. In those days almost every working-man had his "dog-cart.” As a rule, the dogs employed were heavy halfbred bull mastiff's. They thought nothing of drawing (heir masters 50 or 60 miles in a day, their strength being kept up by a sparing allowance of broad soaked in beer. "Just pack a bottle in your old kit ivag!” —before you set off for your holidays. Should you out, scratch, bruise, or burn yourself, it will give you relief right away and stop all bleeding almost at once. Ladies —and men, too —who arc liable to be sunburnt, will fine it a wonderful blessing. Just rub it on when the skin begins to become painful—ease will follow.
