WAIROA RACES. (Per United Press Association.) WAIROA, January 16. The first day of the Watroa County Racing Chib’s meeting was held in beautiful weather. There was a good attendance, and tlie course was in capital order. Results: RAUWA HACK HANDICAP. Six furlongs.—Mountain Peer, 8.7 (H. Griffiths), 1; Sonny Boy, 7.5, 2; Stern Lady, 8.0, 3. Also started: Ahura 8.0. Won by four lengths, two lengths between second and third. Tims, Imin 16 3-snec. TRIAL HACK HANDICAP. Seven furlongs.—Re.nui, 8.7 (J. Dwyer), 1 ; Pakanga, 7.12, 2; Prince Imperial, 9.0,3. Also started: Otoi 7.12, Won by four lengths. Time, Imin 31 3-Ssec. WAIROA HACK HANDICAP. One mile and a-quarter.—Sieve Mart, 8.9 (A. Liddell), 1; Westerner, 7.11, 2; Sunny Spec, 9.0, 3. The only starters. Won easily by three lengths, four lengths between second and third. Time, 2min 11 l-sseo. MAIDEN HACK HANDlCAP.—Westerner (R. Hunt), 1; Stern Lady, 2; Merekarn. 3. Also started: Nokerukau, Azure Sky, Terimu. Marcus, Moreau, and Sly. Won by a length, length and a-quarler between second and third. Time, Imin 3sec. STEWARDS’ HACK HANDICAP. Six furlongs.—Pitch, 9.5 (R. Thompson), 1; Magistrate, 8.11. 2; Sunny Spec, 9.5, 3. The only starters. Won by a. nose, three lengths between eccond and third. Time, Imin 15sec. WELTER. HACK HANDICAP. Seven fur. longs. —There, 9.12 (R. Hunt), 1; Ranui, 9.8, 2, Soiifration 9.0 was left at the post. Won all the way by two lengths, 'nine, Imin Slsec. TELEPHONE HACK HANDICAP. Six furlongs.—Western Boom, 8.4 (R. Hunt), 1; Mountain Peer, 9.0, 2; Merekara, 7,12, 3. Also started; Prince Imperial 9.0, Moreau 7.12. Won by a length and a-half. five lengths between second and third. Time, Imin 15 l-ssec. HURAMTJA WELTER HACK HANDICAP. Seven furlongs.—Theic, 8.12 (H. Griffiths). 1; Westerner, 9.0, 2; Sonny Boy, 8.0, 3. Won by half .i length. Also started: Slave Mart 9.8, Bookman 8.0. Time, Imin 30 l-sacc.
