(Per United Press Association.) WANGANUI, January 15. At the Magistrate’s Court to-day Levin and Co. were fined £6O for stowing dangerous goods in a business portion of the town. The magistrate also ordered £4O worth of goods impounded to bo confiscated. B. Smith was fined £3O for failing to send in his income tax return, and Walter Raymond Sutherland was. fined £2O for beinc illegally on the Egmont Racecourse. AUCKLAND, January 15. At .2 o’clock this morning a thief broke the window of E. S. Kohn’s jewellery shop in Queen street and stole two trays of diamond rings valued at £3OO. The crack of the glass was heard in the hotel opposite, but before chase could be given the man bad disappeared.
