MOSGIEL BOROUGH AFFAIRS.

TO THK KDITOB. Sm.—Your correspondent. “Perplexed Ratepayer" should have put his question direct to the Mayor and councillors, who are responsible. T would like the Mayor or any of his council to answer the following questions: - (1) Why do they allow the Church property, comprising 150 acres, opposite the woollen mills, almost as level as the table, to be a mass of weeds of all kinds? In' years past it has produced its 80 bushels of wheat per acre, but to-dav is a standing disgrace not only to the Church Hoard but to the Mayor and his council. (2.) Why is nothing being clone about the railway crossing, which has proved so dangerous? (3) Where is the water trough flint has been so long promised? (4) Why have the scats that have been given by the public not. been put in the park? (5) Why are, rates not, being collected for the Soldiers’ Settlement? 16) Why has part of Church street been allowed to get into the hands of private individuals?—-I am. etc., Watchdog. Mosgiol, January 10.
