DOMINION TOURNAMENT. PAIRS COMPETITION. (Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, January 11. Tin; pairs competition in the dominion bowling tournament was played on Friday nuil Saturday in lino weather. The greens were in excellent order and tome close games were witnessed. Thirteen greens were utilised, and on 12 of these the sections were divided into two, the winners of subsections playing off to decide the green winner. The competition consisted of five toiinds. The following were the section winners; Section Al. —Marlin and O’Sullivan (Carlton). Section A2.—Liveridge and l-'ilkington (Hamilton). Section B.—MTntyro and Kilgour (Canton). AUCKLAND, January 14. The Queensland bowlers were welcomed at a civic iccoption last evening, and were subsequently entertained by the Auckland bowlers. RETURNED SOLDIERS v. DUNEDIN CLUB. The whole of the rinks of the Dunedin Club were occupied on Saturday afternoon with the annual fixtuic against the Returned Soldiers’ Association. There was a large attendance of visitors, and everything passed of with great success. The president of the Dunedin Club (Mr Alex. Steel) welcomed the visitors, and hoped that all would spend a pleasant afternoon. The Rev. Hector MacLean (president of the Returned Soldiers’ Association) was also in attendance. Mr Laing (secretary of the R.S.A.) had all his arrangements well in hand, and play was started promptly at 2.30 p.rn. The ladies of the Dunedin Club, under the management of Mnadamcs J. O. Duthie, Jas. Rodger, and S. Hutchison, attended to the refreshments and had a busy time seeing that all were attended to. The success of the afternoon augurs well for this annual gathering becoming one of the most popular of bowling fixtures. The following are the/scores; E.S.A. D. Gallaway, M’Neish, Dr Ross, D.
