THE WIRELESS CHAIN

TIMES URGES SPEEDY COMPLETION. Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyrignt LONDON, January 9. The Times, in \a leading article, says: The Empire cannot wait much longer for its wireless communication. The paper points out the vital necessity of wireless to the British Empire, vet the Empire does not possess stations compassing the world like France and Germany and the United States. The clash between promotors and politicians has delayed progress, but happily now there is no longer any theoretical reason why stations in different parts of the Empire should not be designed, built, equipped, and managed by different organisations, a solution to which events are moving. The Times welcomes Mr Chamberlain’s assurance of an absence of conflict of views between the dominions .and the home Government, and the repudiation of the suggestion that the Post Office is fighting the policy of its own allies.—The Times.
