CARELESS JOCKEYS
LONDON. December 15. Tile jockeys riding the onlv two runners in a, three-mile steeplechase at Hurst Park took the wr/fig turning when at the end of two miles. Rot!) rode hard to the finish, passed the winning post, pulled up, and entered the rxuldoek. The loud shouts of the astonished crowd had no effect, but eventually the jockeys were made to realise their mistake, when they rode out behind the stand, re-ap-peared on the track, and completed the race, the favourite winning. The incident did not end there, for the stewards took a hand .and fined the .Lackeys £5 each for carelessness.
