GOLD IMPORTS AND EXPORTS

AMERICAN STATISTICS. Pros* Association—By Telegraph—Copyright WASHINGTON, January 2. (Received Jan. 2, at 7.25 p.m.) The Treasury has announced that during the first eleven months of 1922 the gold imports to the United States aggregated 249,000,000 dollars, or 411,000,000 less than for the same period of 1921. and the smallest in five years. The gold exports increased from 22,000.000 dollars in a similar period in 1920 to 34,000,000 dollars. The officials declare that the trend is unmistakeable and warrants the assumption that the United States before many months will be exporting more gold than she receives.—A. and N.Z. Cable. »
