BOROUGH COUNCIL NOTICES. B OROUGH OF IA WHENCE. NOTICE OP SPECL4L ORDER AUTHORISING RAISING OF LOAN TO EXTINGUISH ANTECEDENT LIABILITY. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at & Special Meeting- of the Lawrence Borough. Council, called for the purpose, and held on Friday, the 15th day of December, 1922, the following Special Resolution, intended to operate as a Special Order, was passed;— RESOLUTION. j WHEREAS the antecedent liability of the Lawrence Borough Council within the meaning of ‘The LocalBodies’ Finance Act, 1921-22,” as at the end of its financial year ending on the 31st day of March, 1922, amounted to £650, NOW THEREFORE the said Council, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by Section 6 of the said Act and by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1013,” and of every, if any other, power so enabling it, and with the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council under Section 20 of “The Finance Act, “ 1919,” hereby resolves by way ot Special Order:— . 1. For tlie purpose of extinguishing the said antecedent liability to raise a special loan of £650, repayable at Lawrence on the fourth day of Sepber, 1932. 2. That the said loan of £650 be raised by the sale of five Debentures of £IOO each and one Debenture .of £l5O, having a - currency of - nine years and six months from the fourth day of March, 1923, and bearing interest at the rate of Six Pounds per centum per annum, payable half-yearly at uawrence, and charged on a special rate of sixpence in the < £ upon the annual rateable value r of all rateable property in the Borough of Lawrence. 3. That a sinking fund of £l2 per annum be created for the repayment of the said loan of £650. 4. That the said loan of £650 and the interest, sinking fund, and other ■ charges in respect thereof be also . charged upon the general revenue of the Borough of Lawrence, from-; whatsoever source derivable, subject to the existing charges thereon. 5. To pay the interest and sinking fund on the said loan out of its general fund until the further resolution of the said Council. AND NOTICE IS ALSO. HEREBY GIVEN that the said Resolution .will bo submitted to the Ordinary Meeting of the said Council, to be he’d at the Borough Council Offices, Ross place, Lawrence, on MONDAY, the Fifteenth day of January, 1923, at 8 o’clock p.m., for confirmation as a Special Order.
