SHOOTING.

The Kaitangata Defence Club fired off for a trophy presented by Messrs Coulter Bros, on Saturday last. The day was very dull, and rain prevented the usually late members from putting in an appearance. Rifleman W. D. Paterson had a well-deserved victory, compiling a score ,of 47 at 500 yards and 48 at 600 yards—a fine- performance. Three members tied for second and third prizes, and in tho shoot off, three times, Rifleman Kyle took second and N. Bisset third. The three members who tied for Messrs Cooke Bros, trophy the previous Saturday fired off with the result that Rifleman W. Bennie proved the winner, with D. Nelson second and W. M'Dougall third.
