The usual fortnightly meeting of Pioneer Lodge No. 1 was held in the Rattray Street Hall on December 5, N.G. Bro. J. Duncan presiding. Sick reports were presented, » and several maternity claims passed for payment. The annual communication from the U.F.S.D. was received, when the lodge delegates to that body drew attention to important matter contained therein. The next meeting will be the final one for this year, and the election of officers and Grand Lodge representatives will take place. Prior to closing the visitors’ vote was acknowledged. Noble Grand Bro. Payne presided over a food attendance of members at Unity rodgo on Monday night, when several sick claims were passed tor payment. Correspondence was dealt with, and an invitation from Linden Lodge to attend a church parade was accepted. Two proposals were received for membership. The major portion of the evening was spent in discussing the order paper, which will come before Graijid Lodge at the session in March next. A vote of thanks to the visitors was responded to by P.D.D.G.M. and Bro. Kilpatrick, Pioneer Lodge. The following adult officers for the Kensington Juvenile Lodge were elected:—President, Bro. F. T. Bonham; Vice-president, Bro. L. C. Robinson; Secretary, Bro. €. A. Bolton; Auditors, Bros. C. Payne and M. Scott. , The principal business to engage attention at the Linden meeting on November 29 was the consideration of remits in. connection with the biennial session of Grand Lodge, to be held at Oamaru in March next. Nominations of representatives thereto were also received. P.D.D.G.M. Bro. W. _ Smith (a past representative) was the nominee of Linden Lodge, The election will bo decided this month at the various half-yearly .meetings of lodges of the order, and the following have been nominated for the three representatives required :—Bros. W. Kilpatrick (Pioneer), T. Roseveare (Unity), W. Smith (Linden), J. Somerville (Clutha) and A. H. Valentin© (Leith). It was resolved to invite the local juvenile lodges to the church parade arranged for Sunday evening, December 10, at the Roslyn Baptist Church. The election of officers for the new term will take place at the half-yearly meeting on December 15., which will be the final meeting for the year. The last mooting for the year of KensingIflT, Juvenile Lodge was held on Saturday. N.G. Bro. M‘Arthur, of Highgate Lodge, presided in the afwonce of N.G. Bro. Banwell. There was a large attendance of members. A sick claim for a brother who is under the doctor’s care was passed for payment. Four now members were initiated during the evening. Nominations and elections of officers for the ensuing term created keen competition, and the following officers were elected:—N.G., Bro Clapshaw; V.G., Bro. R. Ritchie; Rec! Secretary, Bro. E. Bolton; Chaplain, Bro L. Hams; Warden, Bro. A. Bolton; Conductor, Bro. D. Scott; Inner Guard, Bro. J. Winefield. The president extended the season’s greetings to all present and stated that the next meeting would be held on Saturday, January 6. After Bro. A. Wilkinson (President, Highgate Lodge) had _ responded to the vote of thanks to visitors, a very successful meeting was brought to a close.
