OTAGO EARLY SETTLERS’ ASSOCIATION.

The monthly meeting of the committee of the Early Settlers’ Association was held on Tuesday afternoon, the president (Mr Geo. Calder) in the chair. The following gifts were received and votes of thanks passed to the donors: —From Lieut.-col. Barela/, two honour-boards, two challenge cups, and a number of photos, connected with the Dunedin Engineer Volunteers; from W. A. Barnes, herself, son, and grandchild); Alexander Begg (Dunedin), framed portrait of his late parents (Mr and Mrs Chas. Begg, Dunedin (Robert Henderson, 1861); Duncan Robertson (Dunedin), framed portrait of his lete parents, Mr and Mrs_ D. Robertson, late Alexandra South (Alpine, 1859); framed portraits of Mr and Mrs Henry Clapcott, Dunedin, late Popotunoa (Mr Clapoo'tt, Carnatic, 1853; Mrs Clapcott, Bosworth, 1860), presented by their daughters, Mrs N. C. Barclay and Mrs R. Iv. Cameron; Mrs M. Ballard (Patoa), photo group captain, officers, and others s.s. Airedale (sixties); R. J. Winton (Dunedin), framed photo of his late mother (Strathfieldsaye, 1858) and her grand-children; C. W. Pattillo, framed portraits of his late ’ parents, Mr and Mrs J. Pattillo, Dunedin (Alpine, 1859); Miss A. M. Monson (Port Chalmers), number of old telegrams (sixties). The following deaths wore reported:—Mrs Wm. Cooper, Waikoikoi, 91 (Viola, 1866); Mrs Murdoch Murray, Milton, 78 (early sixties)'; Jas. Findlay, Southland, 81, (Robert Henderson, 1863); Joseph Webb, Waihu Bush, 88 (early sixties); G. W. Hutchins, Balclutha, 77 (Ajmeer, 1864); Mrs Martin Ryan, Waitahuna, 85 (arrived 1862); Mrs T. M’Donald, Balclutha, 64 (early sixties': Wm. Scoular, Highgate, 62 (early sixties); Robert Walker, Southland, 72 (sixties); John Philp, Highgate r 04 (Chili, i 860); L. .H. Neumegen, Auckland, 85 (Gabriel’s Gully, (1861); George Friend, Colac Bay, 87 (arrived 1863); Edwd. Thornhill, Riverton (early sixties); James Elliott, Musselburgh, 87 (Star of Tasmania, 1862); Rev. W. H. Beck, Blenheim, 85 (Palmyra, 1858). The following early settlers were enrolled as members;—Mrs W. MT>od (nee Mackay), Milton (Stormcloud, 1860); Mrs M. W. Marryatt (nee Capstick), Milton (Omeo, 1863); George M’Donald, Reed street, Oamaru (Vicksburg, 1867); Mrs S. Turnbull, care of Mr Turnbull, Mosgiel (Aboukir, 1864); Mrs D. M.
