SUNKEN GERMAN FLEET
FRENCH CHARGE, DENIED. BRITISH NOT IMPLICATED. VANCOUVER, November 26. A message from Washington states that exception has been taken, in a formal statement by the British Embassy, to the declaration ’ bv M. Clemcnceau that Britain .secured a guarantee of her national safety by letting the surrendered German fleet sink ,in Scapa Flow. A statement has'been authorised by the British Government denying any implication that British authorities wilfully permitted the sinking of the German warships which were sent to the bottom by their German crews.
