The Waipori is to leave tc-day for Westport and Greymonth. The Rama is to leave to-day for Wellington and Napier, and will later make a trip to the Chatham Islands. The Waitomo, from Nauru Island, via Lyttelton, is due here early in Janukry with a, part cargo of phosphates. She will later dock at Port Chalmers for survey. .The Corinaa, from Wellington, is due here on Friday to load for northern ports. "’The Commonwealth Government steamer Australgien left Dunedin yesterday evening for Melbourne. ■ The Ulimaroa is duo at Wellington tc-day from Sydney, and is to sail on the return voyage on Friday morning. The Moeraki should arrive at Auckland today from Sydney, and is to leave to-morrow on the return trip. The Paloona is to leaye Melbourne about Thursday for Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin, and is due here about December 23. She will then withdraw from the service. The Union Steam Ship Company’s cargo steamer Waitemata, from Calcutta, should reach Auckland about the end of the month. The Kaimanawa is expected at Lyttelton to-day with coal from Westport. Captain Bilton is in command of the vessel. The Trematon, with bulk sulphur from New Orleans, arrived at Lyttelton on Saturday from Wellington. She is to tail on Wednesday for Melbourne. The Kaitangata has been set down to load at Greymouth about Thursday for Lyttalfob, Timaru, and Dunedin; and, after discharge here, will dock at Port Chalmers fo.r annual survey and overhaul. The Canadian Conqueror is to leave to-day for Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland, where she will continue discharging and loading. - WITHIN WIRELESS RANGE. The following vessels were expected to be within range of tho under-mentioned wireles stations last night:—Auckland: Cumberland, Tairoa, Makura, Niagara, Moeraki, Waitomo. Kauri, Bona, Arahura, and Katoa. Wellington: Maori, Kaikorai Ulimaroa Canadian Conqueror H.M.S. Laburnum, Middlesex Port Napier, Karori, Wingatui, City of Winchester, Waihemo, Txelyon, Devon, and Matakana. PACIFIC MAIL STEAMERS. The following are the latest movements of the Pacific mail steamers: Tho Tahiti is to leave Sydndji to-morrow, and Wellington on December 19, for San Francisco, via ports. Tho Makura, which left Auckland on December 6 for Vancouver, via ports, is due at her destination on* December 23. The Niagara, which left Vancouver on Nocembar 24 for Auckland and Sydney, via ports, is due at Auckland on December 15. THE SOUTHERN CROSS. Tho Melanesian Mission steamer Southern Cross returned to Auckland last Tuesday evening in completion of her three months’ cruise of the South-western Pacific Islands, during which she visited tho Solomon Islands. Banka Islands .Santa Cruz Island, and smaller islands. Heavy rains were experienced among the islands, but otherwise the voyage was uneventful. The steamer brought the following passengers;—Misses Flux and Hurst, Mrs K. Hawkesbury and son, Messrs Nicholson and two children, and Roy Allen. The Southern Cross will remain at Auckland until after the hurricane season, and her next cruise will probably commence about April. COMING TO LOAD. The City of Winchester is expected at Gisborne to-morrow from Australia to commence Homeward loading. The vessel will later load at Tokoiqaru Bay, Napier, and Wellington. She should Ire at Wellington on December 24, and will sail from there on December 28 for London, via Montevideo and Teueriffe. The Tairoa (S.S- and A. Company), from Brisbane, is due at New Plymouth on Friday for Homeward loading. Tho vessel is later to proceed to Wanganui and Welling- ). ton, and is expected at Wellington on December 24. She is to leave Wellington on December 30 for Lyttelton, and will sail finally from there on January 4 for London, via Montevideo and Teneriffe, « THE WRECKED HENRIETTE. -Advice wae received in Sydney recently of the wreck of the Henrietta on Nukakailai Island. Captain Thomson, of the brigantine Jeanette, who had just returned to Sidney from the Ellice Islands, said that he had interviewed the Commissioner, who stated that the Henrietta had broken in half abaft the foremast, and that the after- ! part of the vessel had practically split from end to end, and sunk in about five fathoms of water, and had flattened out on the bottom It appeared that before the vessel broke up most of the cargo had been carried ashore by the natives.

INTERCOLONIAL SERVICES. A CONSIDERABLE IMPROVEMENT. The travelling public will be pleased to hear that the union Steam Ship Company has decided to make improvements in the intercolonial services, consequent on the increasing number of passengers between Australia and Now Zealand. As a result of these improvements, which were announced by the local branch of the Union Company yesterday, tho intercolonial services will be regularly maintained from the end of next weak by the Manuka, Marama, Moernki, and the Huddart-Parker steamer Ulimaroa. On© of the principal changes affects the Moeraki and tho Paloona. The Moeraki, which has been in the Sydney-New Zealand run for many years, will replace the Paloona in the Melbourne-New Zealand service. The Paloona is to leave Melbourne about Thursday for Dunedin, via Wellington and Lyttelton, and is due here about December 23. After completing discharge, she will withdraw and dock at Port Chalmers for overhaul. The Moeraki is expected to leave Wellington on December 29 for Melbourne, from which port she will sail early in J annary for New Zealand. She will make Bluff her first of call on one trip, and Wellington the first port on the following voyage. This popular vessel has not visited Dunedin for about nine years, and was then running in the Melbourne-New Zealand trade. The Marama, which has been laid up at Wellington since her withdrawal from tho San Francisco mail service some months ago, is to be recommissioned about the end of the month. She is to leave Wellington for Sydney on December 29, and will take the Moeraki’s running. The vessel is then to sail from Sydney on January 5 for Auckland, making alternate trips from Sydney to Wellington and Auckland. The Manuka, which has been laid up at Auckland for five or six weeks owing to the seamen's trouble, will be commissioned next week, and has been scheduled to leave Auckland on December 22 for Sydney, leaving that port on December 29 for Wellington.
