SCIENCE ASSOCIATION
NEXT MEETING IN WELLINGTON. (From Our Own Correspondent.) SYDNEY, July 12. Tho next meeting of the Australasian Association for Advancement of Science, formed on tho lines of the British Association will be held in Wellington m January next. Mr O. H. Knibbs, director of the Commonwealth Institute of Science and Industry will succeed Sir Balwin Spencer as president. This will be the third meeting to be held in New Zealand, the first having taken plane at Christchurch in 1891, and the second at Dunedin, in 1901. The Transport and Excursions Committee is taking steps to secure concessions from the Railways Department and shipping companies, and also endeavouring to arrange for a steamer from Melbourne to Wellington direct. The programme of the meeting end the travelling concessions will be made public as aoon as they,are definitely known.
