RIVERS RISE RAPIDLY,

NO DAMAGE DONE,

The weather yesterday was again most •unpleasant, when steady rain continued for the best part of the day, but eased some- • what' during the afternoon. The fall was ' particularly heavy and incessant on bundav.’ and the rain gauge kept by Mr W. Jacobsen recorded -900 m at 9 o clock yesterday morning, the previous day s reading being .520 in.
