AMBUSH IN CUSHENDALL.

POLICE AND MILITARY ATTACKED.

REBELS SUFFER CASUALTIES. LONDON, June 24. The police and the military, travelling in two lorries at Cushendall, County Antrim, were ambushed at night when entering the main street. A fierce fire was opened on them from all quarters. The Crown forces retaliated, killing four rebels and wounding three.—A. and N.Z. Cable.

HAMBURG STEAMER SEARCHED.

ARMS AND AMMUNITION DISCOVERED.

LONDON, June 25. . It is reported that Customs officers in London, searching the steamer Foyner, on Scotland Yard’s instructions, discovered a quantity of revolvers and ammunition. Two of the crew were arrested. The Foyner was bound from Hamburg to Limerick, and put in to the Thames to discharge a portion of her cargo.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
