PACIFIC STARR-BOWKETT SOCIETY
The well-attended meeting of the Pacific Starr-Bowkett Building Society was held at the office in King Edward street on Friday evening. Mr J. H. Hancock, chairman of directors, presided. A free ballot of £SOO in No. 2 group was drawn by cluster 56, held by one shareholder, and a sale of £SOO in the same croup was disposed of at a premium of £l6 per £IOO fpr • £4OO and £IOO was passed in. . * In No. 3 group an appropriation of £IOCT. was drawn by free ballot and resulted in favour of cluster No. 89, held by four shareholders. The first free ballot in No. 4 group was also drawn, the successful number being 43. held by one shareholder with six shares and one with four. The Chairman announced that the shares in No. 4 grojup wore being taken up freely and that the total of over 600 participated in tho’ballot that evening. Shareholders were asked to use their best endeavours to fill this group to the limit of'looo shares, and a number of extra applications were received in tho room.
