Press Aaeociation—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, April 27. Mr John Porter, whose death was announced in February last, left estate valued at £35,825. He trained seven Derby winners, including Ormonde, and his -charges altogether won 1063 races, of the value of. £720,000. The Daily Chronicle states that Cabinet has agreed to a reduction of one shilling in income tax, and the reduction, of the taxation on tea and sugar by one pennv per pound. The postage on letters will be reduced to and, with other postal reductions, will cost £6,000,000, which will be taken from the estimated surplus in the Post Office vote.—A. and N.Z. Cable. WASHINGTON, April 27. (Received April 28, at 7.45 p.m.) The Government has informed the Cuban Government that it must set. its economic and financial house in order or United States financial intervention will inevitably follow. The Cuban Minister, Senor Cesnedes, declares that all Cuba needs is a little more time and faith, and the cooperation of her friends in order to achieve the desired end.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
