CONDITIONS IN AUSTRALIA. MR HARWELL’S VIEWS. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, March 25. (Received March 26. at 5.5 p.m.) The Hull Chamber of Commerce tendered n, banquet to Mr 11. N. Harwell, Premier of South Australia. Mr Harwell, in a speech, referred to the Commonwealth Government running a line of steamers. He believed in private ownership and control. Government control was foredoomed to failure. Australia was passing through trying limes. Like England, the Australian working men were being- led by Bolshevist extremists, who wore responsible for class hatred between Capital and Labour and consequent unemployment, which was holding Australia back. Tliey > must get down to a proper economic basis. What was wanted in Australia was lower wages. —A. and N.Z. Cable.
