IRISH LITERARY SOCIETY

The monthly meeting of the Irish Literary, Alusieal. and Debating .Society was held in the Overseas Club room on Thursday. the president being in the chair. The main feature of the evening’s entertainment was a reading on the “Origin of the Irish Race,” by Mr T. JI. Thompson. Thin "as listened to with the greatest ntlenliop, ami Mr Thompson was warmly applauded for Ids most interesting item. During the evening items were contributed by (ho following;—Misses Bennett, Trcstoii, Finnerty,’' Green, Coughlau. Kilkeary, Atby. and Mr Goughian (songs; ; mid Miss Griffon (recitation). Aliss Alova Coughlau acted as accompaniste.
