SCULLING CHAMPIONSHIP
, HADFTELD AND PADDON IN TRAINING. (From Odr Own Correspondent.) WANGANUI, March 23. Owing to heavy -ains in the hinterland a considerable quantity of drift wood is coming down the river, and is interfering with the training operations of Hadfield and Paddon The champion is to commence heavier work rext week, when he will take two rows a day, with Archie Sharp as pacer. Sharp has just passed from the amateur status to that of professional, anj will be looking for contests in the future Paddon is looking well, and he is getting in as many rows on the river as the driftwood permits. He is now taking- to his skiff, know as “The Richmond,” and he appears to make her shoot along in good style.
