Wednesdat, March 22. (Before Mr J. R. Bartholomew, R.M.) Drunkenness.—A first, offender was fined ]os, with the usual' alternative. George Taylor was remanded for a week, defendant being in hospital as the resuslf of a drunken brawl. Victor Hugh Dickenson was lined 40s, in defaidt 14 (lays’ imprisonment, for being drunk while in charge of a horse, — According to Sub-inspector Eccles defendant road a horse at a gallop through Princes street, down the Octagon into Iving street, and then back into George, street, the end of his ride being that he came off his mount. Alleged Theft. — Robert William MTntyro was remanded til! March 27 on a charge of stealing a Big Ben alarm clock at Wellington on November 3. the clock being the property of H. FI. Smith, and valued at £l.—Bail was fixed—self in £SO, and one similar surety. Maintenance.—Robert O'rerar was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment in Wellington for disobedience of an order for the support of his wife, defendant to he released on payment of arrears amounting to £4 10s.
