UNLOADING OF BUTTER
DELAYS IN LONDON. INQUIRIES PROMISED. (Fbosi Odb Owk Cobp.espoitdentJ WELLINGTON, January 31. Reference to delay in the unloading of butter in London was made in the House to-day by Mr O. J. Hawken (Egmont), who asked the Minister of Agriculture (the Hon. W. Nosworthy) a question on tho subject. There was still great delay, he understood, and he asked that inquiries should be made into the matter. He had had several complaints from dairy companies. When there was similar trouble a month or six weeks ago an assurance was given that it would not happen again, but apparently there had been a recurrence.' Mr Nosworthy said that the question apparently referred to the blocking of the unloading of the Tainui. He could give an assurance that a cablegram had been despatched to the High Commissioner in J-iondon asking him to inquire into the trouble. When the reply arrived, as it was expected to do in a day or so.’ he would be glad to give further information.
