PRINCE IN INDIA
YISIT TO NAGPUR. i i* SYMPTOMS OF GANOHI-ISM, \ BOYCOTT MOVEMENT FAILS. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright DELHI, January 30. Symptoms of Qandhi-ism were apparent in connection with the Prince’s one-day visit to Nagpur, en route to Indore, but the boycott movement failed to prevent the route through the European quarter being well lined with Indians. A good reception was participated in by hundreds of natives from the surrounding districts. Despite the shortness of the visit, the inhabitants went to great trouble and expense in decorating the -streets. The Gandhi-ists signally failed in an attempt to picket the railway station. The bazaaip and shops were closed in the native city, but outside that business proceeded as usual. The city was in holiday attire. The chief official ceremony was a durbar, when the Prince received the homage of the feudatory chiefs. An inspection of troops and Scouts and a state dinner followed.—A. and N.Z. Gable.
