GLOOM IN WASHINGTON. CELEBRATIONS CALLED OFF HEATH ROLL NOW 113. Picas Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. WASHINGTON, January 30. (Received Jan. 31, at 7.30 p.m.) Foreign diplomats were deeply stirred in regard to the kinema tragedy. The French, Japanese, and Dutch Diplomatic Corps sent letters to Mr Hughes expressing their sorrow, -while a resolution was introduced in the Senate and the House of Representatives calling for an investigation. The Federal Grand Judy began an investigation on the spot while the rescuers continued digging, which was carried on for 36 hours without pause. The President Willed off various celebrations in Washington, -which is a city of gloom. The death roll is now 113.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
