: j-t ■ • The crew of the Linnet, the Canterbury challenger, arrived by the first express from the north last.night. _ The members of i’ao crew arc—Messrs S. Sinclair (owner and captain), W. Watson, R. Sinclair, and O. Henderson. The linnet' has also arrived, and is housed at Port Chalmers. \ The ereW of the Iron Duke are expected to arrive, with their boat, from Wellington to-morrow night. Iron Duke is the only challenger which has not yet put in an appearance. Desert Gold was sailed in the upper harbour yesterday afternoon. A strong northeast wind was blowing, and the little vessel carried two reefs.
