EVASION OF INCOME TAX
FINE OP £5500 IMPOSED. LONDON. January 16. Heavy fines wore imposed _at the Old Bailey to-day on an old-established firm of chartered accountants, found guilty of falsifying their income tax returns. One partner, Pattullo, was sentenced to pay £5500, another, Forde, £IOOO, and a clerk, Wilkie, who also slightly participated, £3OO. It was ordered that .11 three should b© kept jn prison, until the-finoa ware paid.
