ARMS CONFERENCE
TREATIES NEARING COMPLETION. PRESIDENT HARDING’S HOPES. SPEEDY SENATE RATIFICATION. Pros* Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. NEW YORK, January 29. (Received Jan. 30, at 7.30 p.m.) The New York Times Washington correspondent states that President Harding expects to introduce the conference treaties in the Senate as soon as they are completed, and he hopes for their ratification without a prolonged debate. He believes that the country is behind the conference. Article 19 and the Shantung question are still hanging fire. All that is needed is the final word from Tokk> and Poking. The hope for a speedy end to the conference is still maintained. Mr Balfour, it is understood, has engaged a passage for February 7.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
