NO PUBLIC INQUIRY. (Pcs United Pbbsb Association.) AUCKLAND. January 26. There will be no phblio inquiry into the loss of the -Helen B. Sterling, but statements, by the captain and mate will bo. taken by the American Consul at Auckland and forwarded to the State Department. The Consul is looking after the interests of the men. He has provided them with complete outfits and their expenses while in Auckland. Many have shipped for Sydney. The men, who expressed a desire to return there, will leave by the Malieno next week.
