YESTERDAY'S PROCEEDINGS (Abridged from Press Association telegram,) LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL WELLINGTON, January 26. Tiie Legislative Council met at 2.30 p.m. ANZAC DAY. The Anzac Day Amendment Bill was put through its final stages, and passed without amendment. LAND AGENTS’ BILL.' The Land Agents’ Bill was passed withj amendments inserted by the Select Com-i mittee'. The Council adjourned at 2.50 p.m. until 2.30 to-morrow. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES The House met at 2.30 p.m.’ PUBLIC SERVICE SALARIES. Replying to Mr G. Witty’s suggestion “that in view of the fact that the public service salaries were being subjected to reduction the annual statutory increases on salaries over £SOO should be suspended temporarily,” the PRIME MINISTER said that the Government already had this matter under consideration, and he hoped that legislation covering it would be ready for the House very shortly.
