COTTON GROWING
POSSIBILITIES OF AUSTRALIA. PROMISING EXPERIMENTS MADE. Pims Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, January 25. Mr Currie, Director of the Empire Cot-ton-growing Corporation, stated that members of the corporation were much impressed by the investigations recently conducted by Mr Vaughan Armstrong in regard to Australian cotton possibilities. Mr Currie said that high quality should be sought for, and the results which had already been achieved showed that this was attainable. In this respect a benevolent monopoly was advisable, similar to various .schemes existing in other parts of the Empire. It was a matter of great importance that every source of seed should be controlled and all poor varieties eliminated, especially the kidney and perennial types.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
