, \ - (Per United Press Association.) ! WELLINGTON, January 16. James Atkin Huffey, a married man employed in the Government Printing Office, was drowned at Paekakariki on Saturday evening.. Frederick G. Murray, aged 44 years, residing at Canada street, Auckland, was accidentally killed at Ka-uaeranga Bush to-day by a kauri log rolling over him. Death was instantaneous. He was working with his brother at the time. He is survived by a widow and three children. MOTOR VAN CAPSIZED. An accident which fortunately did not hive very serious consequences occurred in King street on Saturday evening, when a motor delivery van, which was returning to the city with a picnic xMity, was capsized. When the van was between) Howe and Dundas streets a dog rushed from a yard right in front of the motor, and the driver attempted to swerve the machine clear of the animal, but the sudden turn caused one of the front wheels to collapse. The van moved on for a few yards, and then capsized on to the footpath. The occupants wore thrown out, and the driver’s wife and child, who wore picked up in a dazed condition, were taken to a neighbour’s house, where firat-aid was administered. The injured, woman and her child were then, convoyed to their home, where Dr Church found that the farmer had received cuts over the nose and the right eye. The child, who received a few scratches, was very much shaken. The driver and the other occupants of the van. were not injured.
