' SYDNEY, 1 January 16, Mr. M'Girr’s proposal to further poetppne the general election lies broken the Labour camp into two 1 factions, and has led to recriminations betweem members of the Ministry. Mr Dooley aeheros to his proposal for an early election, while Mr M’Girr cypresses fconfidence that he will carry his proposal for postponement at Tuesday’s Caucus meeting. Meanwhile, Mr Levy states that, should any attempt fee made’ to prolong the life of Parliament, he will rtep down from the Chair, and leave Mi’| M’Girr the difficult task of finding a Speaker. . | Speaking at Bathurst, Mr Dooley declared that pressure had been brought upon him to postpone the elections, but they were goin& to be held at the earliest possible date.' He was not going to crawl on his hands and knees to one side or the other; neither was he going to listen to any overtures that had been made for getting him 1 out of the road. It is now generally believed that Mr M’Girr’s effort to secure a postponement of the elections will fail.
