On the second day of the Cromwell races the totalizator handled £4300, the total amount put through the machine being about £6OO less than was the case last year. Smith and Inman are scoring indifferently, and several sessions have ended wifh both players behind their points. Ayres, W. • Costerlaak, J. W. Bukes, H. Kinsman, D. A. R. Leathern, and R. Johnston, with Mr Emory os manager. They were met by a large number of athletes and the general public, and welcomed by Mr A. T. /Davies, president of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association By wireless the team accepted an invitation to compete at a sports meeting at the Basin Reserve on Monday evening. Mr Davies communicated by wireless with Mr Emery, asking if the members of the team would care to participate at the meeting, and the reply stated that they ogreed to compete at 100 yards, 220 yards, 600 yards, and a quarter-mile relay (four men, each to ran 110 yards). Arrangements have boon made to include a relay race on the programme. The visitors will bo invited to appear in 100 yards, 220 yards,, 440 yards and one mile events, provision not having been, made for a race over 600 yards. ' The members of the team will be accorded a civic reception on Monday, at which the Prime Minister is expected to be present. The team will leave on Tuesday for Dunedin, where it will commence its tour. l The details of the tour have been revised, and the following itinerary has, been finally adopted: January 16—Civic reception, Wellington.
