(Received Jan. 6, at 750 p.m.) The Board of Control decided to ask the Marylebone Club to agree t 6 tho visit of an,. English team to Australia, during the 1923-24 season. It was also decided in, future that both umpires in Inter-State matches be selected by the authorities of lh6 States, where the match is being played. NEW SOUTH WALES v. SOUTH AUSTRALIA. SYDNEY, January 6. (Received Jan, 6, at 11.80 p.m.) The weather was fine and the wicket good for the New South Woles—South Australian match. A thunderstorm interrupted play, but the- 'wicket being covered, was not affected. South Australia loet eix wickets for 208 runs (Follow 81, Richardson 84, Rundell not' out 72). Failing light, the result of tho storm, caused an early finish. The New South Wales team is weak, eight members of the first eleven being l unable to play.
