A meeting of the members of the Church of England. was held yesterday evening, the Rev. E. G. Edwards in the chair, when A. C. Strode, Esq., and W. C. Young, Esq., were re-elected Churchwardens, and • Messrs Martin, Pantlin, Can troll,_ Hardy, and Oook, Vestrymen for the ensuing yeAr, and W. Day, . Esq., Auditor. A resolution, authorising the Vestry to proceed immediately with the erection of a, new Church, on. the ground in Moray Place, below the Parsonage, and to -collect subscriptions for that purpose, was passed,.. and the. stun of £340 was collected and paid on the spot., The 57 sections in the Government township. of Waihola were sold on Friday, add realised very high prices; the average being £37 3s 2d per quarter-acre section; one section went at the very high price of £125.
