SHIPPING FREIGHTS
REDUCTIONS ON GENERAL CARGO RATES. (Pkb United Pkeso Association.) WELLINGTON, March 13. The shipping companies announce a reduction in general cargo rates, to become effective on Monday. The new nates show reductions from £1 12a 6d to £4 10s per ton, and they apply to hemp, tallow, pelts, hides, kauri gum, glaxo, and preserved meats. The reduced rates apply to most classes of general cargo.
