The New Zealand National Swimming Championship meeting will commence in the Tepid Baths next Saturday night, and will be continued during Carnival Week. Visitors to Dunedin will have an opportunity of 4 witnessing what will probably be the greatest natatorial carnival yet held in New Zealand. The entries, which have now chaed, have exceeded the expectations of the local centre of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association, which will control the meeting. Eighty Christchurch swimmers will compete, and 40 entries have Ven received from Auckland. Large entries have also been received from Wanganui, Napier, Manawatu, and Wellington. The following New Zealand national championships will be competed for on Saturday evening:—The Mile, 100 Yards, 100 Yards Ladies, 220 Yards Boys’ Intermediate, 50 Yards Junior (Girls), 100 Yards Junior (Boys).
