KUROW NOTES

KUROW, January 29. This district is at present experiencing a very broken period of weather. Although in the aggregate very little ram baa fallen, vet it bis been raining off and on for ioyersl days At present the weather is f&irly cold. • , Harvest operations are in full swing in both the Hakafcvramea and Obake distncte; the crops are not so good as usual. This is owing to the dry sped, when the mips v, ere coming to maturity. Although the crops are not up to the usual standard they are, however, not poor. .... , A large amount of wool is being railed from Kuirow at present. The three large lo Ties owned by the new Motor Company are continually plymg between Kurow and the back country. Consequently Kurow bears quite a busy aspect. An assistant stock inspector has been appointed to Kurow, and has just taken up his duties. He has been transferred from Blenheim. , , , , Viter having been closed for six weeks, the Public School will be re-opened next week. Owing to the increasing number of pupils it is likely that an additional teacher will be appointed at no very distant date.
