TO KID, January 29. Replying to interpellations in the Diet, Baron Uchida stated that negotiations were proceeding with Great Britain in order to secure equal treatment of the coloured .peoples in the South Pacific Islands. The treaty clauses dealing with the islands south of the equator had not yet been interpreted. Japan favoured a policy which would ensure equal opportunity for the Japanese and British and the desire to respect the mandate administrations south of the equator.—Reuter.
