CARISBROOK CRICKET CLUB

ANNUAL MEETING.

The annual meeting of the Oa-risbrook Cricket Club was held lest evening in the board room of Mt E. S. Wilson, and was fairly well attended by members. The chair was occupied by Mr A. H. Fisher. The annual report contained the following clauses:—-'Although far short c-f the prewar standard, the cricket shown last year was a big improvement on that of the previous season. With a number of members back from military service, we are again able to enter two teams in the Senior Grade. ' It was decided that the "A" team should bo comprised wholly of the younger players. Unfortunately, the team did not do as well ae expected, owing mainly to a lack of sufficient bowling talent. Mr Hutchison heads the battmg list with an average of 31 for 10 completed innings, and Mr Dickison, a ii bchool boy, who played for Carisbrook during the school vacation, the bowling with lo w lc kets at an average of 11. That was the time they ehould stick to the game, and a failure to do so was one of tho reasons why Otapro had failed to maintain its standaid during the last few years. Aiteheson. _ Tho condition of the reserves used as playing areas was referred to by one member who stated that considerable sums had been eoent. by the City Council. He mentioned that an association, having- for its obiect the forcing of the City Council to do something fo improve playing atcas, was "oin<> to be formed, and he urged that the club sunport such an association.
