RESIGN' IN A BODY. g (Pee United Pjzlss Association.) CARTERTON, September 23 Hie Deputy Mayor (Mr J. W. Smith) aid seven councillors of the Feotherstoa Borough Council resigned in a body yesterday evening as an answer to a by-election whereby a member of tho council who was suspended for alleged insulting conduct, and who had resigned without withdrawing the / remarks objected to, was returned ' again. The' council considered that such action oa the part of tho electors was a vote of noconfidencc. in them, and therefore they resigned and decline, to seek re-election. Difficulty is anticipated in obtaining a new council.
